Trek Summary:

Gosaikunda Trek is also religious trek. If you are time bound then this trek can be shortened by returning to Dhunche from Gosaikunda rather than completing circuit. During the Hindu Festival of Janai Purnima (August Full moon festival) many hindu people visit here. As well as this site is also religiously important site for Buddhism too.  This trek offers the good view of mountains, hiking through the forest too, also sightseeing of few other lakes too. You can swim in these lakes as the water is regarded as holy water.

Brief Itinerary:

For 5 days Gosaikunda Short Trek, 8 days Trip.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: City tour and Trek Preparation

Day 3: Kathmandu to Dhunche (1950m)

Day 4: Trek to Sing Gompa/Chandan Bari (3300m)

Day 5: Trek to Gosaikunda (3420m)

Day 6: Trek to Dhunche

Day 7: Drive to Kathmandu

Day 8 Departure from Kathmandu.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: City tour and Trek Preparation

Day 3: Kathmandu to Dhunche (1950m)

Day 4: Trek to Sing Gompa/Chandan Bari (3300m)

Day 5: Trek to Gosaikunda (3420m)

Day 6: Trek to Ghopte (3540m)

Day 7: Trek to Kutumsang (2450m)

Day 8: Trek to Chisapani (2215m)

Day 9: Trek to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu

Note: This trek package can be customized as per your need, covering all expenses from arrival upto departure. More person in a group helps to reduce the trek package as some of the cost can be distributed upon number of person. Such as guide cost remains same if you are travelling alone or with 4 other persons.

Accommodation: During the trek accommodation will be in tea houses/mountain lodges. All accommodation are served on twin sharing basis, single supplement will increase the price. But for the trek booked on single basis, you will be served on single supplement. During the trek during peak season it might be difficult to find room available on single basis.

Meals: During the trek we will provide breakfast, Lunch and Dinner serving tea 2-3 times as well as fresh fruits per day as per itinerary. There will be farewell dinner as well as souvenir from us.

Physical Conditions & Experiences: Physically fit person who can walk around 6 hrs per day for longer periods are good for this trek. Our Itinerary is well planned to provide good acclimatization as well as our guide will take good care of your health. It would be better to do prior exercise before the start of trek for period of at least few weeks.

Season to trek: The best season for trekking in Nepal is Mid-September to Early December and February to May. During the second season wild flowers like rhododendron blooms and give more beautiful scene.


Gosaikunda Trek Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu:  Pick up from airport and drop in hotel included. We will provide brief info about Nepal and trekkings in Nepal.

Day 2: City tour and Trek Preparation: If you are time bound then we can escape this day and start our Trek with trek preparation on previous day. Otherwise you can make City tour on your own (We can also provide City tour with guide but it will increase the trek package price. We will surely provide all information which sites to visit, how to reach there, Entry fees to the site and what to try in those areas). Kathmandu valley is beautiful valley with Temples, Stupas, Monasteries, Durbar Square (Palace), UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites. We will make trek preparation, get introduce with the guide, Buy Trekking gears or Rent.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Dhunche (1950m) : Trek starts from Kathmandu from early morning. We will take either Jeep or Bus, with drive of around 7 hrs we will reach at Dhunche. Driving with scenic view of mountains, villages, rivers can make this bus journey beautiful. Stay overnight at Dhunche.

Maxm Altitude: 1950m

Day 4: Trek to Sing Gompa/Chandan Bari (3300m) : Hike starts from this day. We will walk around 6hrs in trekking trails followed by beautiful mountain views, great landscapes, traditional villages, oaks, rhododendron, Buddhist monastery.

Maxm Altitude: 2560m

Trek Hours: 4 hrs

Day 5: Trek to Gosaikunda (3420m):  With hike of around 5 hrs we will reach to Gosainkunda Lake. Enjoy the great view of Lakes, Langtang Himalayas, Ganesh Himalayas range. There are other lakes to for view too. Dudh (Milk) Kund (lake), Chandra (moon) Kund, Ragat (Blood) Kund, Ama (mother) Kund are the other lakes of this region, we can explore them with half day rest at Gosainkunda. This area is full of Buddhist praying flags, cairns, also with trishul and hindu cairns.

Trek Hours: 5 hrs

Note: For time bound trekkers, we can do this trek in 5 days trek. Day 6: Trek to Dhunche, 5hrs. Day 7 drive to Kathmandu. Day 8 Departure from Kathmandu.

Day 6: Trek to Ghopte (3540m): Uphill trek, we will reach the highest point of our trek Laurebina Pass (4610m). From here we can seem panoramic view of mountains. Descent trail towards High camp, Phedi and Ghopte.

Maxm Altitude: 3540m

Trek Hours: 7 hrs

Day 7: Trek to Kutumsang (2450m) : Uphill and downhill hike, crossing the Thadepati Pass (3690m). Today hike involve mostly through the forest, ridges.

Trek Hours: 6 hrs

Day 8: Trek to Chisapani (2215m): Another day hike on the forest, with 4 hrs hike we will reach to Chisapani. From here we can also connect this trek to Nagarkot.

Trek Hours: 4 hrs

Day 9: Trek to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu: With 4 hrs hike in the forest of Shivapuri National park, we will reach Sundarijal. Sundarijal is also nice place for sight seeing. With around 1 hr drive from Sundarijal we will reach Kathmandu and the cheers to the trek.

Trek Hours: 4 hrs

Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu: Airport drop service included. If you want to add your holiday and do more hikes then also we will provide those services.
